In an effort to assist those workers locally combating the COVID-19 pandemic, Klabin manufactured much needed alcohol-based hand sanitizer to be donated to the City of New York to be distributed where needed most.
A call for donations was sent out locally on WNYC radio asking for crucial donations of PPE and related supplies needed to keep healthcare workers and others safe while fighting this virus. NYC has been hit especially hard and needs supplies urgently, while many of those supplies are in short supply or otherwise unavailable.
Klabin cannot help with the bulk of PPE items but is able to manufacture alcohol-based hand sanitizer using existing equipment, supplies, and manpower. Klabin donated 14 gallons of much needed alcohol-based hand sanitizer which translates to thousands of point-of-use applications for those front-line workers. This WHO formula uses 80% ethanol and is approved to kill the COVID-19 virus.
We are happy we can provide this donation, however small it may be, to assist those helping to save so many. Once we received confirmation that the city could use our donation, we manufactured and shipped out in less than 24 hours.
